Field season 2026 has begun! 🐦 We’re launching experiments on how territorial birds react to songs of different amplitudes - from loud to soft songs. This @ncn.gov.pl‑funded project is carried out with @dmwiniarska.bsky.social and Biology students from the University of Białystok.

I recently received Principles of Soundscape Ecology as a gift. Overall, it’s a very good introduction to the science of acoustics. Personally, I’d have appreciated more on sound fundamentals and less on analysis methods. It’s great for beginners, though. #sciencereads
