A very late birthday present. I bloody love early Alan Moore.

A bit spectrum-y. Always looking to stick my oar in about Doctor Who, Taskmaster, D&D, Marvel, Bob Dylan or cryptic crosswords. Please try and keep me off politics, it just makes me cross.

Spider-Man Brand New Day comes closer to my ideal of what an MCU film should be like than any entry in the franchise since Endgame. Like a good run of comics all smooshed into two and a half hours.
I seem to have spent weeks and weeks doing prep work for the new D&D group. I'm so glad it's only a monthly thing, I don't know how people running weekly games find the time.
I'm getting quite angry at people on other sites celebrating the BBC's latest axeings (and, in some cases, giving suggestions of what should also go). If you don't like a show, that's fine, but If you're actively pushing for other people to lose things they like, you're probably a cunt.

This is really a crap day... RIP Tom Chadbon Unforgettable as Duggan in #DoctorWho and then Merdeen in Trial of a Time Lord plus Del Grant in #Blakes7 Countdown and so much more including Out of the Unknown in 1971 and Memoirs of Sherlock Holmes in 1994.
Amelia Tyler, the narrator of Baldur’s Gate 3.
You suddenly get a narrator describing your life and there’s no way to turn it off - everyone can hear it. While shopping, at work, at home, with friends - the voice narrating your every move goes on. Who do you hope is the voice of this narrator?

Name a tv show you never stopped binging. I'm never not in the middle of rewatching a series of Taskmaster.

"The future is all around us, waiting, in moments of transition, to be born in moments of revelation. No one knows the shape of that future or where it will take us. We know only that it is always born in pain."
Name a quote from a tv show.
In memory of Bonnie Tyler (RIP), this excellent video by BabelColour (and, indeed, the whole series is just as good): www.youtube.com/watch?v=ENg0...

It's about the time of year for the next Doctor Who: The Collection announcement - has anyone heard anything?
OK, episode 2 of the new series of #X-Men'97 is a delight. So many 90s references, just what I want in this series, not nods to 21st century stuff.
What a shock to hear about Justin Richards. One of the great old reliables of the Wilderness Years, a chameleonic writer who could turn his hand to any style of Doctor Who, and frequently did. R.I.P.
Chuds and neckbeards be damned, I’ve just seen #Supergirl and thought it was just fine. Milly Alcock is great, and Momoa isn’t allowed to steal her thunder.
If er get Andy Burnham after this, at the very least it's what Nigel Farage really doesn't want, which can;t be a bad thing. Not that I'm not pissed off at how Starmer's been chased out by the right-wing media, but I'll take some consolation where I can.
Drop some books… Yes, D&D rulebooks count, as I’ve fallen off the tabletop gaming wagon again lately.
Drop some books… I could have chosen something different, but what did you expect? This week, especially.

Re: #Taskmaster casting, I have to say I'm mildly disappointed. Considering their previously progressive record, casting not one but two obviously problematic people in the same series seems unusually tone-deaf.
Oh well. If nothing else, this will all make for a fascinating documentary on whatever's the current home media format in about 30 years time.
