Decent book thrift haul. Kennedy 35 is an upgrade as i own it in paperback and do need to order book 4 in series now. Broken Fields by Marcie Rendon is 4th in a series set where I live so great find and I know nothing about the M. M. Buckner but read their first - Watermind so giving this a go.

Not quite as insanely hot as last weekend where weather app was crying and saying 'feels like 110' so venturing out to book thrift and cinema..

I've been watching Fringe on Bluray of late after picking up complete series box. Loving the weird science - now on S2E6, the sketch of an unknown molecule is the same class of compounds I have my PhD in. And like early grad school me. They can't draw a porphyrin and get the aromaticity right 😀

Respect for the sheer number of times Stuart Macbride manages to use the word 'shoogle' I use it all the time in teaching chemistry labs in the US and his books are often my counterargument to students claiming it's not a real word. Just hope they never see terms like bawbag on the same page

Wee trip up to Glasgow for Super Furry Animals at the Barrowlands. While all seemed right in the world and the cone is correctly placed, I did discover a possible sign of the apocalypse (or maybe just a ginger heresy)

UK bound as heading back from Minnesota to just outside of Glasgow for 2 weeks. Trip reading book 1 is this sassy looking brick (Exodus, book 1 of the Archimedes Engines by Peter F Hamilton) which has languished on the TBR pile but now book 2 is imminent so making a start on it.

Just got my tickets for both nights at the Barrowlands next weekend.
