Naomi Smith: Brexit has resulted in a slow and painful death by 1,000 cuts for the UK economy, and the knock-on effect to our struggling public services, with experts like Nick Bloom now rightly highlighting the appalling damage to our healthcare.

Turns out that if you are an old lady with a banner supporting Palestine, the government arrests you on charges of terrorism. If you are a masked white male thug bringing a national port to a standstill, the government does absolutely nothing, and the media covers it like some lads on a day out.

Just want to point out if people had been beaten up at the Green or SNP party conference and their leader had cheered it on. It wouldn't just have been on TV, it would have been on TV non-stop until the election. But for Reform, it barely got mentioned.

I was tortured as a child because I was gay. Humiliated. Punished. Threatened. Denied healthcare. I very nearly died. If the Scottish Government are too afraid of the SNP right-wing to ban conversion therapy, spare us the bullshit excuses, do us the dignity of admitting it.

“Ministers have shelved plans to ban the abuse of LGBTQ people known as ‘conversion therapy.’ Their reason for doing so verges on dishonesty." www.heraldscotland.com/news... @kathleennutt.bsky.social

Good to hear PM remains “committed to electoral reform” - an essential step to mending our broken political system. But action speaks louder than words. He needs to demonstrate that commitment by urgently setting up a National Commission to design a better, fairer, proportional voting system asap

💥💥💥"The government's priority is a politics that works for all people in all places - not some people in some places. The Prime Minister remains committed to electoral reform." Great to hear this from Democracy Minister Florence Eshalomi 💯 But now it's time for action 👇🧵

The Representation of the People Bill takes some steps in the right direction, but the lack of necessary action to root out dark money, foreign influence, and misinformation in UK politics makes it a huge missed opportunity overall- especially the outrageous decision to exclude any discussion of PR.

📊 Research from Frontier Economics, commissioned by Best for Britain, shows that EU membership would boost UK exports by £43 billion each and every year. 🧠 It really is a no brainer.

❌ Ellie Chowns: "We now have less strong protection for our environment. Socially, politically, culturally, Brexit has been poisonous." "It's catalyzed a toxic political debate, polarization, the proliferation of disinformation, short-termism in politics, a discounting of rights and opportunities"

NHS England has said that you cannot opt out of Palantir having your medical data and they refuse to review their policy. So if you live in England, Palantir, Donald Trump, Netanyahu and co have access to all your medical data. Nobody voted for this.
