If English isn't a doctor's first language then they are required by the GMC to have an International English Language Testing System (IELTS) of at least 7.5/10 in order to be registered. NMC and HCPC require 7/10, so once again they're creating an problem that doesn't even exist

What a repulsive man. I had eye problems. Everything from routine cataract surgery and laser work for retinopathy in both eyes, to a vitrectomy. Some of the surgeons and nurses didn't have flawless English. But as they were busy saving my eyesight, it would have seemed churlish to whine about it...

The funniest thing about the classic James Bond movies is how Felix Leiter is played by a different actor every time he appears, almost to the point of being a running gag. And his age and personality vary wildly lol

Missing jigsaw piece: the (former) Nazi now runs a popular satirical website where Badenoch is treated as some sort of cross between Boudicca & Margaret Thatcher while Labour & even Reform are constantly mocked. So this whole sorry mess is just another symptom of her being terminally online.

Another glorious vindication of Kemi Badenoch’s impeccable political judgment. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

The BBC hate us so much that they only had me on Question Time 38 times and have had Zia Yusuf on 8 times in less than two years, despite the fact that nobody even voted for him. Now that's what I call bias.

This is pure extraction of wealth from one group of people to another We urgently need: Windfall tax on oil giants Windfall tax on banks Both are creaming money off us during a cost of living crisis Even Thatcher had the balls to tax the banks Will you @andyburnham?

How do people, I'm talking Tories become so isolated? They're in their own bubble. Never a word about their last 14yrs of shameless neglect & corruption. Instead, it's all Labour's fault. Trumpism right there. And still they display, how unfit they are to represent us.

Badenoch flailing around now on #r4today trying to defend this idiocy. Babbling incoherent nonsense. Truly woeful that this deeply unpleasant and thoroughly mediocre person is now Tory leader. And a better journalist than Justin Webb would have made that very clear. (Article from iPaper)

So Badenoch would recruit a neo-Nazi but *not* someone who didn’t want to leave the ECHR or someone who supported our NetZero commitments. Second chances for this guy but not Dominic Grieve. The Tory party is truly wretched. It’s screwed the country, betrayed its own and lost its tiny mind.

Badenoch defends former neo-Nazi pick as council candidate
By Will Meakin-Durrant
Kemi Badenoch has said her party
"believes in second chances".
, after
the Conservatives selected a former neo-Nazi once jailed for harassing a Jewish former MP as a local election candidate.
Joshua Bonehill-Paine
posted on social media that he was "tremendously proud" that he has been chosen to stand for election to Somerset Coun-cil, in the Crewkerne South ward.
Bonehill-Paine (inset) was jailed in 2016 after he was convicted of racially aggravated harassment.
He wrote several blog posts about the former Labour MP for Liverpool Wavertree, Baroness Luciana Berger, labelling her "an evil money-grabber" with a "deep-rooted hatred of men".

He was previously jailed for producing an ad illustrated with a picture of the Nazi concentration camp Auschwitz, which promised "an absolute gas" at a rally in Golders Green, north London.
Badenoch said: "I want to be very clear - and I think people can look at me and know that I'm not a person who would be recruiting neo-Nazis.
"Josh is someone who actually has been certified by the Home Office to train police officers on antisemitism and on countering extremism.
"Yes, he [has] previously convicted but he has shown contrition for his crimes, has been rehabilitated and is spending every day working to solve the very problem which he knew that he had caused previously.
"And the Conservative Party believes in second chances."

Good morning Bluesky ☀️ My grandad told me he saw the Titanic - from the outset he warned all the people that the ship would sink, but nobody listened to him. He knew he was right and didn't give up. He warned them again & again, until eventually they kicked him out of the cinema.

The Titanic sinking under a moonlit sky.

The Telegraph isnt a source of serious journalism anymore, its just rage bait for Reform, Nick Ferrari and Spectator journalists to get their knickers in a twist over

I hate this so much. Farage said this would be immigration week, and here are all the headlines talking immigration, and not positively. Could someone in power, for once, just stand up to this shit 🤬

Nigel Farage has made his clearest admission that he was in talks to return to lead Reform UK months before the 2024 general election, casting fresh doubt on previous claims that he was not involved in politics when he received a £5m gift.

"Hands up if you're a prancing prick who's been spouting complete bollocks about using the Royal Navy to send migrants back to France in a desperate bid to distract attention from the sleaze your party is mired in"

Bild

Pretending that the Navy taking back migrants would be a humanitarian mission and therefore legal, is a bit like pretending that a £5 million bribe is nothing to do with politics and therefore doesn't need to be declared.
