"The Shoes on the Danube Promenade" is a memorial of 60 cast-iron shoes along the river’s bank in Budapest. It honours the thousands of Jewish people who, in the winter of 1944-1945, were shot on the banks of the Danube by members of the Arrow Cross Party – who collaborated with the Nazis.
