Question: has anyone actually shipped anything public with gastown yet? Other than re-writing gastown itself, of course.

I think the latest episode of strange new worlds is the scariest episode in all of Star Trek.
@typescriptlang.org Socket is flagging typescript 7.0.2 as having “unstable ownership” for the native dependencies, looks like they all switched publishers very recently. I assume that’s fine, but “microsoft1es” isn’t the most obviously legit account. Can y’all confirm it’s an intentional switch?
As an established hater of standard time, just want to chime in here with a “this fuckin’ whips” and “if you don’t like it you should change the timezone boundaries”.
People are gonna fucking hate this if it actually happens. Enjoy all these post 8am sunrises
This is such a great idea. If I lived in NYC, I’d strongly consider applying. Hopefully this spurs more cities (and states) to bring more tech stuff in-house. Also: they should open source what they build! I want to see a golden age of “Public Software”.
If you’re a software engineer, designer, or technologist who wants to help make City government work better and faster, apply to join our PIT crews at nyc.gov/pitcrew.
This is a truly fascinating technical document. I’ve never been a bun user, so I have no stake in the outcome, but it’s an incredible precedent. If this really ”works” and bun is as stable (or more stable) than it had been previously, we’re really through the looking glass. bun.com/blog/bun-in-...

The bear season 5 was my favorite since the first one. Really fun and stressful, almost made me miss working in kitchens again!
Mexico is a 1-seed for sure, but don’t sleep on the eastern conference
Let’s do some discourse. Who has the best breakfasts? My vote is Mexico: huevos rancheros/divorciados, chilaquiles, molletes, tetelas, papas con chorizo, churros, migas… plus café de olla I dunno, I think they figured it out?
This whole “no playoff basketball for several days in a row” thing really isn’t working for me
Chet is out here Ben Simmonsing. Totally terrified to shoot.
Potato egg and cheese tacos are GOOD AS HELL
—Guy gets a potato egg and cheese taco —republicans decide to make it a campaign issue —they call him vegan instead of vegetarian even though vegans don’t eat eggs or cheese, because vegan sounds “worse” —guy isn’t even vegetarian, he just likes tacos
They are calling it the loudest booing in history
Oh hell no.
Slack and GitHub, I really need y’all to align on markdown variants.
The NBC WCF “Wild West” hype video was far superior to ESPN’s “voices of the east”.
“An” implies ”one”, which is an entirely impractical number of e-bikes for a family. We currently have 3, unclear if that’s enough.
Why every American family should have an e-bike at home
James Harden going 2-10 from the floor in a Game 7 and his team winning by 30 anyway is objectively hilarious
This dramatically understates the verbosity of AI workarounds.

Rewrite Bun in Rust by Jarred-Sumner · Pull Request #30412 · oven-sh/bun
Blog post with details coming soon. It passes Bun's pre-existing test suite on all platforms (and fixes several memory leaks and flaky tests), the binary size shrinks by 3 MB - 8 MB, the benchm...
