Welp, time to binge TNG. Probably start with Forst Contact, tho; those first couple of seasons are going to take some resilience. (And no, I’m not watching Code of Honor.) Man, this one really, really stings. It’s like having a chunk of my childhood ripped away.

@digby56.bsky.social Do you really think so? I go back and forth on it. And tbh every day I expect news of a catastrophic fall, a grand mal seizure, or even “the President has a case of the flu but is doing well” that really means “he’s dead / had a major stroke / is a vegetable”.

I will not be surprised to see Trump, who has lost virtually all rhetorical restraint, drop the ugliest epithets of all someday soon. It’s just a matter of time.

@ashliedstevens.bsky.social There’s another facet to this: In college I’d stayed over at my gf’s. I was going to the store for myself. “Get me an apple.” Got her an apple. “This isn’t the right kind.” Not sure what % of partners are afraid to get the wrong type of apple, but it isn’t 0.

Despite me telling her many times that it's the way weather in Texas works, every time we have one of our "the temp changed 45 degrees in a few hours" swings she's stunned. TBF I'm usually surprised, too.

If someone wants to make a mint, they will start a movie studio that guarantees no AI was used in their films. Books that have a "no AI" stamp. Applications that you can BUY (not *subscribe to*) that don't force AI on you. And so forth. Honestly I'm stunned no one has done this.

Today I went to the Austin Public Library, currently celebrating its Centennial. Then I listened to a guitarist on the terrace of a crepe place next door. Went for a walk on Red Bud Isle dog park. Listened to Bob Marley. Tonight I’ll make pesto It’s 68°, sunny, & breezy. This was a good day.
