When you get laid off from a job you love, but on the same day you get brought onto a writing project that allows you to combine all of your favorite things. And then that project ALSO essentially lays you off. Because you can't ever, ever have nice things.

The thing about losing this job is that part of me isn't even surprised. I was too happy, so of course I didn't get to keep it. Why did I ever think I would get to actually have something I want?
