Leaders of flag-raising group Raise the Colours Oxfordshire placed trackers on highway workers’ cars to find out their home addresses, the High Court has heard. RTC then attempted to intimidate the highway staff into no longer removing flags by repeating their addresses to them.

We estimate we will need at least £500,000 for the initial response and two years of intensive work. Recovery will focus not only on what has been lost, but on creating a more resilient landscape that can better withstand future climate change, drought, wildfire and coastal change.

Weird to think that for all the animals and insects and birds born in the spring - this is the first time they've felt rain. In the west of England.
Umm petrichor! First rain in months. Bliss.
Jetzt!
First call I've seen by any politician for an emergency heat summit. 41°C today in Vienna Kudos @lgewessler.bsky.social orf.at/stories/3438177

Great discussion at the 'crisis in UK history' meeting hosted by @ihr.bsky.social, @royalhistsoc.org, @histassoc.bsky.social and History UK. Horror stories of closures and redundancies, balanced by new resources. Check out for ex. the new Independent Historians Network independenthistorians.org

Stories of patients enduring A&E waits of more than 12 hours for a hospital bed have become all too commonplace since the pandemic. In February 2026, over a third of admitted cases waited over 12 hours from arrival to admission. Follow the trend in our video 👇
Downsizing Yesterday was looking hopelessly thru programmes of cultural events past… Today -kitchen cupboards Starting with The Tupperware Boxes & Lids Nightmare (for the uninitiated it’s like trying to find a matching pair of socks in a hurry), before moving swiftly on to Kilner jars & bottles😱
I never did get round this exhibition 👇🏻 I felt claustrophobic and couldn’t stay in the galleries. I’ve not yet been to the new ones, though hope to do so soon.
Downsizing is not all about which books to still keep, but which programmes - and the memories they represent. I saw this production a few years after my dad died, but he loved the movie and we’d watched it together as a family several times on TV.
Downsizing decisions… Joyful moments with younger family members
Downsizing - and some of the trickiest decisions about what to still hold onto are the programmes of things we’ve seen and listened to. So many of the people I went with for these outings are no longer with us - so I’m not sure what I’m holding onto or why, in some cases. Sigh. Not sure…
On my German father's side - a haberdashery type shop in a cute corner of then Germany, now Poland - just across from Pless / Pszczyna castle On my English mother's side - a tailor, I believe, in the northeast.
Enough “what would you do on the commune questions” If you got sent back 100 years and were given your grandparent’s job, what are you doing?
Feeling the heat? So is our wildlife! Water and shade can be a lifeline to the birds, bees, bugs & other critters that share our spaces. Tell a friend to tell a friend, we're helping wildlife beat the heat 👇
#FoodSky Prepping summer slaw👇🏻 yet it’s only weeks til I’ll be making what my mother called Nurse McGinty’s. Anyone else make this? Melt butter & black pepper in the bottom of a heavy pan; add grated carrot & swede; pop the lid on; shake it periodically = melting soft buttery winter veggies 😋
What happens when a historic space can’t be made physically accessible? Its story still can be. Accessibility isn’t only about entering a room. It’s about ensuring everyone can experience the story it holds. #Accessibility

Detailed thread for teaching, re. expectations around evaluating evidence 👇🏻 🗃️
1/ Information literacy has a confidence problem. We often teach novices to “evaluate the evidence” as though a checklist can turn them into temporary experts.
