I like the references to cycling…hubs, wheels, cycles etc…subtle nods to the role of good cycling infrastructure in addressing the climate crisis. @londoncycling.bsky.social @cyclist.co.uk

Not just residential streets. West Green Road in Tottenham is horrendous- you can taste the pollution, the buses can’t get through because of parking both sides of the road - and random illegal parking adds to the horror. @mikehakata.bsky.social
Councils like Haringey are hellbent on maintaining two-sided on-street parking on almost every residential street, whilst also maintaining two-way traffic on what little space remains. Resulting in awful cycling conditions for all. Made worse by giant SUVs. @mikehakata.bsky.social

Went to an art history taster today @citylit.bsky.social, run by @sarahj.bsky.social, who is clearly passionate about her subject. Five mini-lectures in 2 hours, going from 13th century Iranian tiles to Yoko Ono, through the lenses of iconography, materiality, historiography and more. Fascinating.
Superb end to the @sciencewise.bsky.social & @ukri.org dialogue on ultra processed foods. Newham participants, I salute you for a long, thoughtful and broad list of where @ukri.org needs to focus future food research funding. And a wonderful job from Hopkins Van Mil! Looking forward to the report.

Trump has told the UK that if we want tariff relief we need to buy chlorinated chicken from the US. We don’t want crap food here. Sign the petition to keep chlorine-washed chicken off our shelves. It’s dangerous and unnecessary. Sign deals with the EU, for god’s sake!!

Just weeks after the Telegraph published an article falsely suggesting that #StopFundingHate had received government funding (we haven’t, and wouldn’t), it seems they’re putting together another hostile piece about the campaign… (1)

Our cat got stuck in sheds all the time when she was young. I hope you find her.
The shed thing's a good call. We recently had a cat with a heavy limp in our garden, begging for food, etc. We let her live in our shed for a few days (left the door open) until we found the owner. I hope Katniss gets a similarly happy reunion.
Darn, I caved in and looked it up. It IS a type of cream.
I refuse to learn what “cloture” means and you can’t make me.
Have Marks & Spencer stopped supporting the racism & misogyny then? I haven’t seen their name in your more recent lists.

“…I would like us to insist, with as much force as necessary, that parity with men is not a treat benevolently bestowed upon us, nor a kindness that can now be rescinded.”
“And yet, the demand to empathise with the boys and men propagating this hatred must surely be exceeded by a justified anger on behalf of the girls and women who are the actual subjects of said hatred. If anything, it is obscene that we women are not more furious and more frightened.”
I’d settle for just being treated as a person much of the time. And your post made me think of Donna Haraway too: I’d rather be a cyborg than a goddess. But your sentiment is nonetheless appreciated: cheers to men who celebrate this day.

UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer is set to announce a renewed push for Britain's watchdogs to rip up red tape and boost the economy.
