Gen AI requires minimal creative or craft skills, works at enormous speed, and is touted as a way of crashing through limitations and gatekeepers, freeing your creative vision. So shouldn’t we have had some AI art that isn’t total shit by now? Or was speed and ease not the problem after all?

After talking on here a little while ago about the relentless march of the music biz basically memory hole-ing any joy or career highlights you might've had because you haven't released anything in the last week, I thought 'you know what? fuck it, why not show off a bit?' So here's a thread:

Artists are treated much like dairy farmers. “The product is going to be there anyway, pouring out of those dumb animals. Someone has to take it away or it just goes off, yeah? So we’ll price it at zero - taking it away is a favour - but sell it at a profit, cos people seem to love it. OK by you?”
