James Talarico on Texas officially banning THC: “Texans aren’t going to stop smoking weed and eating edibles because politicians in Austin say so. We are now telling full-grown adults how to live their lives. This is the nanny state at its worst; this is big government at its worst."

Big oil companies raking it in from this stupid, shameful war costing us our tax dollars, standing in the world & many lives, not to mention the devastation it’s causing to farmers and so many others around the world. Can’t we at least get them to foot the bill? www.nytimes.com/2026/07/31/b...

This strikes me as a hilarious example of “whataboutism”. Of course I’m concerned about insect die-offs, and I applaud those bringing this serious issue to our attention. But, come on! I can’t mourn a great artist whom I miss terribly without being accused of not caring enough about bugs?

The 3 year anniversary of Sinead's death gets more media reach than the fact that 63% of ALL insects "died" in the UK in only 3 years, from 2021-2024. 70% of all insects "died" in Europe since 2020. #Death #Essentials #Celebrities #Extinction

AOC: I think when I make decisions about my life, they aren't just rooted in polls. They're rooted in what people need, what is best for the country and what is appropriate for the moment… and I think that right now, the most important thing before the country is for Democrats to win the midterms

And last night the climate denying grifter in chief gave us a glimpse of how he’ll attempt to steal the midterms & end democracy. We can’t let that happen. It’s bigger than us. The world needs us to step up & defeat those lying criminals who would end representative government around the globe.

This morning the sun is out but it’s strangely dark here in sweltering DC, with acrid, bitter air thick with smoke from Canadian wildfires more than 1,000 miles away. This is what our fossil fuel addiction has wrought. We know how to fix this, but can we fix ourselves?
