If your goal is to support a healthy gut, come back to the basics: include plenty of fibre, eat a wide variety of plants, drink enough water & keep doing those things consistently. It may not be as exciting as the latest wellness trend, but it’s what we know makes the biggest difference. #guthealth

A new drug called daraxonrasib nearly doubled survival time for patients with #pancreatic #cancer enrolled in a phase-3 clinical trial. That’s a big deal, because treatment options for pancreatic cancer are limited and survival rates at 5 years are very low.

What do I need to know about daraxonrasib, the new treatment for pancreatic cancer?

1/ “#LeakyGut” is all over social media, linked to everything from bloating & fatigue to brain fog, allergies & even chronic diseases. But right now, leaky gut syndrome is not an official medical diagnosis & there’s no solid scientific evidence that it causes these wide-ranging health problems.

1/ Studies in mice can be helpful and important. They can point scientists toward new ideas. But they do not guarantee that the same thing will work in humans. That’s why scientists are careful about big health claims based only on Petri dish or mouse data. Read more from @dririnih.bsky.social 👇:

1/ 💡What does it mean when a study is peer-reviewed? When scientists say a study is “peer reviewed,” we mean others in the same field have read it carefully before it was published. They check the methods, the data, and the conclusions.

In nutrition as clickbait for failing legacy media institutions ex #656765876, we have CNN putting out this headline on a new cross sectional analysis published in a Radiology journal with zero capacity for causal inference and even lower quality than usual dietary assessment. MAHA I guess

Ugh, I really wish such poor quality studies were not given headlines in major news outlets... it really hurts the credibility of findings from good studies IMO---how can the public be expected to know the difference? 😫 Come on, @cnn.com!
