Ahead of a great volume measurement ranking of the English cathedrals, I've been giving my surrogate of Old St Paul's a jolly good clean: rebaking the textures, fixing holes and glitches, and getting it down from 387k verts to about 66k. And tiny things like having John of Gaunt's chapel on N side.

oh no, not again, they are my favourite feature of the building. I think that this should be repairable with epoxy adhesives (the hammerblow on the other in 2020 as I understand made so many fractures smaller than the engravings themselves, it was basically impossible to reassemble the lower half)

Another damaged panel of John Hutton’s important glass art at @coventrycathedral.bsky.social - one was broken by a vandal a couple of years ago - this recent one affecting the Angel Gabriel was a rigging accident. Such a great building, such a shame to see.

Exciting stuff: the new toilet/café block at St Mary Magdalene, Newark, Nottinghamshire. Best bit is the little clerestory so you can see the stained glass from inside the cubicles.

Today La Sagrada Família is having the first part of the crowning cross of the Jesus Tower installed. This will finally take it past Ulm Minster's 161.5 metres (begun 1392, completed with octagon and spire 1885-90) as the tallest church in the world!

Lytham Hall's main staircase plaster ceiling, attributed to Swiss-Italian stuccoist Giuseppe Cortese (house designed by Yorkshire architect John Carr and built 1757-64) has been repainted over the last few months and unveiled in the past week. Can't say I'm disappointed: I think it looks spectacular

A different angle to the usual view of Cologne Cathedral before the 19thc completion. Made 1670-5, looking from the NW. The S tower, completed up to clerestory height with its famous medieval crane is to the right, but to the L you can see the interior of the E wall of the N tower.

Wanted a model of the parish church of St Mary, Long Sutton (Lincs) so was able to find two drone passes of it that I could render. Problem is one was taken in snow so I had to change the roof colouring as well as the overall colour temp. But I think it turned alright, as an illustrative massing.
