Renters are spending up to 40% of their income on rent. Here’s our plan to change that in 30 seconds.
An awesome video about @zackpolanski.bsky.social's campaign in Holborn & St Pancras. No wonder Burnham is running scared.

This Labour government could have responded to the genocide in Gaza in so many ways, instead they cut aid. This is a dereliction of duty.
I talked this week about the mental health crisis afflicting young people, in particular the isolation and loneliness caused by the neoliberal smashing of society. Everyone needs community. Everyone needs belonging. We cannot survive without them.
Yes students want a good job after Uni but, as is the case for Humanities students anyway, their main priority during their degrees is TO ENJOY THEIR STUDIES AND LEARN. I’ve held focus groups and have the data. But all Universities care about are workplace skills like it’s the fucking Soviet Union.
Why is the answer to employers wanting more work ready graduates always that universities should provide more workplace training, rather than employers providing more training in the workplace?
Steps today were reporting blocked drains with Stonegate Greens. Surprisingly fun.
2050 is just too late. The clue is in the word emergency.
We don't do that though by extracting oil and gas from new fields, or by expanding airports. A few community owned wind turbines isn't going to be enough. www.theguardian.com/environment/...
A big thank you to Janet for giving us such an interesting tree walk in Abbey Park today! #DiscoveryCircles
Our Human Factor at Work coordinators ran their first session last night! A taster for the 'Learning to be a Facilitator' course. For more info: vaughan.coop/course/learn...
We had a very engaged group of participants at our 'Learning to be a Facilitator' taster. Lots of ideas in our 'Popcorn session' about when do we need facilitator and why are they needed or useful? Deadline for applications next week! (17 September)

Labour has delayed its plans to allow new North Sea drilling until after the Holborn and St Pancras byelection. A Green win on 8th October will add pressure on Labour to reverse this shortsighted and dangerous plan. www.theguardian.com/politics/202...

And Leicestershire police were tipped off about the big Hindutva 'protest' that kicked off in Sept 2022, but all fucked off to London for the Queen's funeral anyway. I'm picking up on a theme about who matters, who doesn't...
And the PS Northern Ireland were also tipped off about paramilitary activities several months before the June pogroms
The Government is letting data centre developers bypass local scrutiny... BUT they don't even know what the data centres are being used for 🤯 It's time to put the brakes on. It's time for a national data centre strategy.
The government must know full well that many people have neither the space nor the money to store extra food in their homes. It is individuating responsibility for a collective problem. As usual, it is the poorest and most excluded who will suffer from it. 🧵 www.theguardian.com/environment/...

Yeah this -- there's thousands of people in abusive or dangerous households with secret phones. Hope they are all OK now.
Well done our prick prime minister for doing an emergency alert with no prior warning whatsoever, this will genuinley have put people with necessary secret phones in danger. Just an utterly incompetent arsehole.
So how many people didn't get the 'really important' message because they hit 'stop' button to get rid of the horrible noise? If you missed it apparently there's a Welsh version on some government website.
Great climate change sorted by a Government alert! If we don't have barbecues or pit fires the rapid heating up of the planet will all okay!
Great blog on why historians do research better than AI. Also (with the very rare exception) we don't just make stuff up.
As promised, a blog that talks about human error, children (not) being transported and why AI can't do what historians do (because it can't think) sophiemhistory.substack.com/p/historians...
The Vaughan Exhibition visitors saw in the Attenborough Arts Centre the exhibition ‘Jason and the Adventure of 254’, a major solo exhibition by Jason Wilsher-Mills. To be recommended, especially to those with children. #DiscoveryCircles

Cars are growing bigger every year, creating an increasingly dangerous environment for road users. If current trends continue, an additional 2,500 adults, and 79 children, could die on Europe’s roads by 2040, compared to a scenario where new car sizes return to 2015 levels. ➡️ bit.ly/3SRno6P
