Divisive social media platforms like X need to be regulated; and people using it to incite riots should be held criminally liable. Why are our politicians unable to act?

This is absolutely right. I know many Americans on here support maximal consequences for Trump et al & significant reforms to guard against any return of Trumpism. But even in the unlikely scenario they achieve that, allies as well as enemies now have the measure of the risk the US can pose to them.
