Apparently my tastebuds have gotten used to good coffee and now Starbucks tastes terrible. Was it always this bad and i just didn't know any better?? This whole week has been a coffee disaster. Next time I'm bringing a moka pot and coffee grounds with me. 😭
On the train to Alexandria, VA for a week at the office, which i am very much enjoying (the train ride, the week in office is as yet tbd). Ensconced with knitting and a podcast!

SO badly. People would literally die. She is an OBGYN MD and in-vitro fertilization expert with a phd in spontaneous abortion prevention methods (yes, i am extremely proud of her 🥹) Otoh, she would also never be able to do my job as it involves a lot of very specialized training. 🤷🏻

Just finished reading Star Shipped by Cat Sebastian and ohhhh my god, i am OBSESSED with this book. Got it from the library but i will absolutely be buying a copy (maybe one digital and one paper). It is everything my fanfic and Star Trek lover heart desires. Cannot recommend it enough. 😍😍🌟
Finally got to watch Project Hail Mary tonight and holy wow, i see what all the hype is about! It was incredible!! A little sad that i didn't get to see it at the cinema bc the timing was bad for us, but man, what a ride! I will definitely be watching it again!

Just started The Incandescent by Emily Tesh. It's possible that she is becoming one of my no-questions-asked authors. Everything i have read by her is clever, engaging, and honestly special. This book promises all of that and more.*rubs hands together gleefully*
It's a really bizarre and surreal feeling to be living in this timeline, considering i wrote my phil phd thesis on AI, consciousness, and subjectity. I spent 2 out of 4 chapters trying to establish what a conscious self-aware AI would look like; it is absolutely nothing like what exists rn.

My two Econ teachers in my last 2yrs of highschool were both a delight. Mr Richardson (elderly, wild hair) once roasted an entire class saying my English was better than any of theirs on one of our assignments (i was the only foreign student in the class).

#injury I only realize what huge leaps and bounds i have made in terms of my body's strength when i throw my back out for the first time in literal years and it doesn't result in spending a week lying in bed unable to move for the pain. It's still sore but this would have laid me tf out 5yrs ago.
