Saw EVIL DEAD BURN and it was _just_ what I needed: squirmy and goopy and nasty, as a family that is barely keeping it together finally pulls the plug and gets everything out into the open. Special mention for Erroll Shand just sitting there oozing "daddy's had a hard day" for 20 minutes straight.

It's been a hot minute since the discussion on a film has been as spoilery as that for EVIL DEAD BURN, mostly around it being "mean", which is a shame, because I've been jonesing pretty hard for something upsetting and mean to watch.

Me on a date or some other socially charged situation Them: So, tell me about yourself Me: The Chupacabra is allegedly a cryptid but in fact we know that it's from someone seeing SPECIES and imagined they saw the creature from the movie

I chanced upon STOP! THAT! TRAIN! while looking for something to see tonight other than DISCLOSURE DAY, and I'm pretty sure I had a better time, even if both trailers are sufficient to feel like I'd seen the movie already.

StokerCon had me at "hello"; I've amassed a dragon's hoard of book and film recommendations, several bookcases worth of actual *new books* (and a zine!), a lifetime of memories and a handful of new friends I can't wait to see again next year.
