Nobody's hiring, nobody's quitting; the issue that has been widespread since before 2017 but nobody talked at all about until we had AI to blame it on. Gasp! A 0.2% difference in the number of people quitting their jobs. Call the FBI... 😱🤯
Steve Rattner@steverattner.bsky.social · 4h agoThe labor market is frozen. Hiring and quit rates are both running below pre-pandemic levels. While unemployment is at historic lows, this dynamic presents obstacles for job seekers, particularly young college grads.
When your aim is to save money by releasing convicted murderers back out onto the street, this is what you wind up with. Progressive policy - not so progressive in effect.

& worse, the people whose countries were deforested did not themselves get to enjoy the beef anyway. Largely, it was exported to western countries for use shoveling down the pie hole of obese fast food consumers. The average American eats 3 hamburgers every single week. Meaning half eat more than 3.
