The Times responded to my analysis of their coverage of trans issues. They basically said "you can't look at what we wrote, you have to look at everything else!" But that belies the structural issues they won't even admit to such as pushing a Pullitzer campaign for Azeen Ghorayshi's podcast.

The Times rejects the criticism In a statement to The Advocate, Rhoades Ha said the paper has “reported deeply for years on the prejudice and attacks that transgender people face” while also helping readers understand “the questions and debates over trans rights and medical care.” “We reject any suggestion that our coverage is biased or anti-trans; we report on gender identity and related issues fully and fairly and approach our coverage with curiosity and sensitivity, as we do with every story,” Rhoades Ha said. She said Caraballo’s analysis “shows a fundamental misunderstanding of our journalism and how it works,” arguing that such studies “sample words, sentences, and headlines in isolation and ignore the expertise, facts, and context that journalists and editors bring to each story.” Rhoades Ha also disputed criticism that the Times fails to include transgender voices in its coverage.

I've spent the last two months putting together this exhaustive analysis of the New York Times coverage of trans people. It covers 3,242 articles over 12 years. In 2022, the NYT shifted towards a hostile stance towards trans people in their framing. www.thedissident.news/exclusive-ho...

That huge generation majority and then two years of essentially Conservative government, a hammer on immigrants, a terrifying rollback of trans rights, a government terrified of Spectator columnists. What a wasted, wasted opportunity. Good riddance.

Keir Starmer, you will not be missed. Despite your profession (human rights lawyer) you're time as PM has overseen a huge rollback of human rights when it comes to protest, freedom of speech and the rights of marginalised groups. I will never forgive you for that. Good riddance.
