Republicans, in their infinite wisdom, left a big gambling loophole in the Medicaid work requirements. I'm no fan of the gambling industry, but if you are on Medicaid and struggling to deal with the work requirements, taking a $580 bet on both sides of an outcome is one way of getting around them.

This is the whole thing, prices have not gone up uniformly. Healthcare is also an obvious target because it’s so opaque and involves large sticker prices.

I think we're going to have to target specific prices that are very annoying to specific constituents to get out of this. The lowest hanging fruit are housing, followed by energy. The hardest is going to be care.

As a professional scientist/mathematician who has access to some pretty serious AI models: they are *terrible* at anything that requires applying theory to a real situation. That requires out of the box thinking, which they intrinsically cannot do. At best they can implement a creative idea

I don't think I've ever seen any other field where the experts are trying to warn people of the danger emanating from their field and then be dismissed as marketing.

This is seismic news for fisheries scientists. Northern cod is *the* iconic symbol of total fisheries collapse due to overfishing (and other factors) *and* the iconic symbol of a complete failure to recover for decades afterwards. This is like announcing the complete recovery of bison on land.
