Unpopular take, I guess, for Bluesky: it's natural for those of us with strong ideological commitments to interpret election results as a reflection of which *ideologies* are more popular, but each candidate's charisma, good looks, name recognition, and personal baggage are big factors as well.
Not sure if this looks worse for the LLMs or for the legitimacy of SCOTUS

We can’t take anything for granted this year, especially as the regime threatens mail-in voting, targets registration programs, and even tries to ban states from encouraging people to vote.

Question for law professors: when you post a draft on @ssrn.bsky.social, do you add keywords or JEL codes under the abstract on your first page? Do you add any special metadata to the document before posting it?
Best case scenario: Trump disappears from public life at the end of his term, MAGA collapses, & the GOP spends a few years trying to reinvent itself (again), we will still have a federal judiciary stacked with Trump appointees. A long era of resentment and disdain for judges could ensue.

What's up with Judge Shepherd on the Eighth Circuit? He authored two seemingly contradictory Second Amendment opinions about Sec. 922(g)(3) within two weeks of each other. The second one (from yesterday) doesn't even mention his other case about the same statute & issue from earlier this month.
There's a reasonable chance Democrats will win narrow majorities in both houses of Congress this November. If we had a *functional* Democratic Party, there would be dozens of CRA resolutions already drafted to block every rule change the administration has done within the statute's lookback period.

Permit less carry rapidly spread over the last decade and a half. Because of its recency, there’s been little systemic research on its effects. This new paper finds that it makes society meaningfully worse off.
