What a horrible way to die. No one should be put through that, and no one should lose a loved one that way. My deepest sympathies to everyone who knew and cared about him, no matter who they are. Grief comes for all of us equally.

The key words here are "intermediaries under their control." The idiotic ideas that wealth=wisdom and that wealth should confer power are the particular scourge of our age. One of them, at any rate. The other is that some people's religion should equal anyone else's law. @insidephilanthropy.com
