When a patient living with #SickleCell disease hits the ER with pain, they should get pain meds IMMEDIATELY. A hefty first dose of pain meds can result in better outcomes. They do not need your narrative, suspicion or discrimination. They need your help. Be a champion for them.
But the reality is that patients with SCD to this day continue to receive care, funding, and support that is less than. It is UNACCEPTABLE. And if we don’t talk about it, how are we ever going to fix it? 19/fin
