Archaeologist specializing in Mesoamerica, #Pseudoarchaeology, and Appalachia . Posts my own, unless I’m a brain in a jar! He/him

Your regular reminder that paleontologists study dinosaurs and other extinct creatures, while archaeologists study humans and their material culture. The study of dinosaur material culture is a mashup known as Paleoarchaeology and these pioneering scholars are rewriting history! 😉

Lots of pushback on this one, but no surprise. The scholarship is very clear that this concept was invented by Robert Graves, who made up many things about goddess he didn't understand. -Hutton, Ronald . 2001 . The Triumph of the Moon: A History of Modern Pagan Witchcraft . Oxford University Press

The Odyssey was extraordinary. No spoilers don't worry. Nolan had to compress a major epic poem into 3 hours. It is amazing because by watching the film, you feel you are listening to the ancient performer reciting it in a torch lined hall. The best movie I've ever seen about the ancient world.

It is becoming unethical to offer these fully asynchronous courses. Our college has been very cool about switching to hybrid testing models. I’ve also begun to do zoom follow ups after online quizzes to test knowledge. No longer time for heads-in-the-sand.
