I'm a terrible artist, but an excellent thief. 🏳️‍🌈 https://dstaley.com

heads up the internal AES hardware of the fourth generation iPod nano is much slower than that of the sixth and seventh, so budget more time for firmware decryption. just in case that's relevant to your Sunday activities.

will always be funny to me when artists say the name of the suburb the venue is in instead of the major metro area because why was Hilary Duff like "how are you doing Shakopee?!"

it's honestly a little wild that in this, the two thousandth and twenty sixth year of our lord, there's no access to Apple Health data on macOS

Well this is interesting: UPS delivered my package to the wrong address (a street over it looks like). Ten minutes later, they correctly delivered it to my house. I wonder how the driver was notified the delivery location was wrong?

I have a Lenovo Yoga C630, which has a Snapdragon 850 CPU. Recently a Windows 11 update causes it to boot loop, and there's no way to get a mainline Linux distro running on it. So I'm putting Windows 10 back on it. The recovery image has Windows 10 1803, so it has a lot of updating to do 😵‍💫

I really wish you could sign into YouTube on desktop the same way you can on a smart TV, just by scanning a QR code. Would be nice to be able to quickly sign in on my work computer where I don't have access to my passkey for my Google account.

I find it weirdly rewarding to port stuff to new operating systems, CPU architectures, and library versions. Things like making sure an old audio processing library compiles on Apple silicon, removing bad path separator assumptions, and updating ancient .NET Framework libraries for modern .NET.

Today in why is everything computer cursed: why does the NFC touch point on just one of my gym's bikes trigger my Apple Watch's Apple Pay?

Finally had the opportunity to try my Loop Switch 2 earplugs at last night's Lady Gaga concert. I cannot recommend them enough. Loved that I could adjust between the three strength levels as needed.

Started NieR: Automata this weekend! Finished Route A (and Route W 🫣). I think I much prefer the approach of Automata where all the canonical endings arise from just playing through the game rather than doing something specific like upgrading all the weapons.
