The Pa. House is in session today to try to do ~something~ on this. The rules committee met this morning, + passed an amendment to the bill the Senate lobbed their way last week. What is that amendment? Couldn't tell you! It's not online yet + the lege took away the public access terminal. :)))

Each side holds up the worst, or best, case scenario as a reason not to compromise. I talked to the victims of those cases. Turns out, they largely agree.

Everyone in Pennsylvania is on budget watch. Not me (that's @stephenjcaruso.bsky.social's circus). I am on Commonwealth v. Lee watch. The legislature has until July 24 to come up with a new sentencing scheme for second-degree murder. Right now, Pennsylvania imposes mandatory LWOP for the offense.
