"Pharloom is a land of harsh extremes. Perhaps that is, in part, why the pilgrims have a culture of testing themselves against it so fervently." ... "Once I have completed the search for my master, I would like to return and attempt the climb in full. " Mount Fay #silksong

Mount Fay. Illustration featuring a location in the video game SilkSong. Hornet sits at the base with Shakra standing nearby, and the two gaze up at its intimidating peaks. The dialogue is part of a conversation the two exchange as they discuss the mountain and the pilgrims of the land.

My fave Phil Tippett fact is he invented something called go motion, which was basically stop motion but with added motion blur (the lack of motion blur is part of what gives stop motion its uncanny quality) CGI quickly made go motion irrelevant, but you can see it on the dragon in Willow (1988)

One last look inside Tippett Studio. The legendary f/x house is closing, and its models, props & precious artifacts are being sold off. I spent a day inside the workshop, surrounded by Star Wars, RoboCop, Jurassic Park & decades of handmade movie magic. www.popculturalprecursors.com/p/one-last-l...

I spent a total of 648 hours in photoshop working on this. That doesnt even include the absurd amount of research and reference gathering I had to do. I put together a pretty dense collection of the process for all this if you're interested too. A LOT of lessons learned

The death of folk graphic design in favor of AI slop across our country's delis is leading to some incredibly Lovecraftian food horrors
