I think there’s a tipping point for people who have died. Have they become more well known for their abhorrent views than their primary vocation? One side of this line is Rod Liddle, the other side is Jeremy Clarkson (not dead yet, for clarity).

Was in a pub the other day. Hot day so most people were outside, I just went in to order. I walked to the bar and a woman I passed said ‘excuse me, there’s a queue here’. The queue was one person at the bar and her behind. There was no one else at the bar at all. Is this normal now?
Nigel is not a unique name. That Making Plans t-shirt could refer to any Nigel. People are just assuming it’s referring to the traitorous, racist, perpetually whining friend of Russia Nigel Farage rather than, say, Nigel Planer or Nigel Havers.
Disappointing to see how little Andy Burnham has achieved as PM in his first couple of weeks. Liz Truss had managed to kill the Queen by this point.
(Quoting because I can’t reply) Found out recently that the current AI team in the civil service is absolutely not a tech bro cheerleading dept, they are looking at risks, controls, benefits, and making sure it doesn’t kill us all.
I don't want to raise hopes, and I'm definitely not a Labour voter, but to be fair, the current MP in charge of AI, Kanishka Narayan, is a thoughtful, smart guy and he takes his brief really seriously; I certainly don't think he exists to be a cheerleader. Hoping he gets the role.
I think that Tuchel will leave the England job before the Euros. Players were absolutely gutted about his tactical blunders against Argentina and I suspect he’s lost the dressing room.
Really don’t think that England performance has helped Tuchel’s argument for bringing on defender after defender against Argentina. I wonder if he noticed the difference when we have an outlet.
Good to see Declan Rice and Bukayo Saka getting a start for England tonight; they could do with the minutes.
Reading a book at the moment and the author says that one character ‘burned mix tapes’ for his girlfriend. Burned?
It’s Jordan Henderson I feel sorry for. After all, he’s probably only got six or seven more world cups left in him.
Whenever Saka played in this World Cup the opposition would double up on him, giving him no space to operate. Messi was allowed to roam around on that right wing, completely free, for half an hour. I’m still baffled by what happened. #England

I see the ref has decided to give free kicks for yellow card offences and nothing less, presumably it’ll need to be a red card offence to get a booking. ENGARG
People who are still desperate to criticise England are now basically saying ‘oh yeah but they wouldn’t be any good if they didn’t have their two best players’ which is basically every good team ever.
If my death is followed by people defending me by saying ‘don’t speak ill of the dead’ then maybe I haven’t lived the kindest life.

GUYS - I’ve just realised what Farage is going to do… The thing is he now has NO WAY to proceed which doesn’t humiliate him. If he wins, he is, as Rachel Reeves put it, The Man Who Spent His Summer Arguing With A Bin. If he bails, he’s The Man Who Fled From A Bin. And if he LOSES…
Of course, now Binface is going to get a load of scrutiny. I know nothing about the guy but I bet he’s got some secrets.
So unless I’m mistaken. Farage could win the by election against a bin, then immediately call another by election, and keep doing so until the other parties agree to put up a candidate to oppose him?
I wonder if Farage has ever thought that his security needs would be considerably less expensive if he wasn’t so much of a cunt?
I wonder whether Farage supporters ever notice that all he ever does is whine and play the victim?
I trust that journalists will ask Farage what he expects to happen about the parliamentary standards committee investigations now that he’s ‘stood down’.
Watching Messi and Ronaldo they couldn’t be further apart. Messi is still worth his place in one of the best national teams in the world. Ronaldo is like when I saw James Brown at Glastonbury and he couldn’t sing or dance anymore.
So the Argentinian player is allowed straight back on the pitch despite being treated by the physio?
I cannot take Australia seriously as a football nation. I think it’s the nickname.
Cat just walked across my keyboard during a meeting and opened up a search box and typed the word Ass
Just finishing a book at the moment and it has that awful, awful thing where a person with no leverage (ie not lawyer or police) confronts a killer who suddenly just decides to confess and explain everything for the sake of plot and coherence. Does this ever actually happen?
In the pub there is a DJ who is playing music whenever England score. I want to beat him to a pulp with his laptop.
