Confused bystander. Generally numb but always polite and cheerful. 🙄 I teach people on pooters. I particularly like hard core dub reggae. Old skool. But then, I'm old.

Why does my wife have no fucking scooby about loading a dishwasher? I know I'm OCD but it causes me actual physical pain when I see it. Then I spend the next 20 minutes rearranging it logically, thoughtfully and efficiently. I'm then told I'm a complete wanker and I'm demeaning her efforts.

Misti is doing fabulously just over two weeks on. He had cancer in his back paw so they amputated his whole leg. Now he’s back to being a loving boy. Could you have a quarter of your body surgically removed and then be jumping around after two weeks? He did it after a day. Cats are astonishing.

I was given meds for my cat & was told it’s a 0.8 ml dose. The delightful Veterinary Nurse (with superb tats along her arms of leaves & lizards) gave me the syringe & I immediately said: How big is the works? She looked at me askance. But then she said without missing a beat: It’s a one mil.

Mummy’s away so the babies have to put up with Daddy for a week. You can see how enthusiastic they are about this situation. Despite the fact that I AM the one who rescued them and gave them a home. And who continuously pays for their welfare. But NO! I’m not Mummy! And so I suffer. Little sods.

Drumpf says he's 'disappointed' that Kier Starmer won't let him use Diego Garcia as a base for strikes against the Middle East. Personally, I can't think of anyone else who I'd rather 'disappoint'. Can you?

The Orange Gibbon and his cohorts have such willful misunderstanding of Islam & Middle Eastern politics that they'll probably try to link Iran with the Taliban. Just you wait. They're crass enough to try & put that out. 🙄

Tonight it’s the Guvnor, Mr Keith Floyd. I’ve been making his Basque Chicken ever since I saw him do it on the telly in the 1980s and then I bought the book (illustrated). It’s a classic and has fed me and many of my friends over the years. (The stains on the page say it all!) Highly recommended! 🙂

P.S. All reskys of this much-appreciated. I'd love to have these all gone by the end of the day as our house currently has 5,000+ of my backlist in it (you'll know why if you check out my Substack) and we'd like to clear less convoluted routes to our fridge, bed and kitchen sink.

Decided to give away this entire pile of my 2022 book Notebook for the price of postage today. If you can pay more, great. If not, no problem. Pop a reply below if you'd like one. It's a short, silly book, but sometimes a bit serious, too, and people tell me it's a good easy gateway to my writing.

A big pile of Notebook paperbacks.
