Feels like it should be bigger news that a journalist known for being loud about her investigations into banks/payment processors appears to be getting financially stonewalled by the entire industry unaminously right now.

Hey look, YouTube is doing a thing that no one asked for, benefits no one, wastes resources, reduces functionality, destroys original content, burdens infrastructure, and worsens the user experience all so they can push a false narrative about tech that fundamentally doesn't work the way they want.

Youtube has announced that all low-res videos (i.e. older ones) are to be automatically AI upscaled to HD. Creators can opt-out on a per video basis (but the channel may be long abandoned). When researching props or behind the scenes, old videos are useful, but not if upscaling produces artefacts.

Hi Itch, author of the original article here. Thanks for ignoring my repeated requests to comment, and then coming out of the woodwork days later to claim that my article - which verified each game's indexing status independently - is 'full of misinformation.' You're full of it. (thread)

This article is full of misinformation unfortunately. The games Wendy and co. are indexed: itch.io/search?type=... I think maybe the person is confused because it doesn't show up in the autocomplete? Autocomplete only shows the top ~1000 games: itch.io/t/3361091/se...

A reminder not to let the National Center On Sexual Exploitation's official-sounding name fool you: they're the rebranded busybody group "Morality In Media", whom you might remember from such hits as "Trying to have Life Of Brian pulled from theatres" and "trying to connect queerness to mass murder"

Itch's new content policy is: 1. We can't tell you what violates the rules. 2. If you violate the rules, we take all your money. Not just the money from that work, ALL your money from EVERYTHING you've ever made. I don't care how much of a smol bean Itch is, this is not a viable platform.

It’s almost impossible to come up with an exhaustive list of unacceptable products to sell, so often we have to take content reviews one at a time. If an issue arises with your account that isn’t already covered by our policy, then we will contact you and share what options you may have.

If you've collected money while in violation of terms, we may be forced to refund or freeze all pending transactions, as accounts that are in violation of our terms are not eligible for payouts.
