Highlights from the Egmond DNA Repair meeting: Julien shared our work, Sidak and Stella brought nice posters—and both got invited to give short talks. And the cherry on top? Stella won the Best Poster Prize, congrats! A pretty great week for the lab 🏆

Our first bachelor student successfully defended her thesis! An impressive piece of lab work paired with a clear, engaging defence and discussion. Congrats! Many thanks to Panos Galanos (SDU) for serving as external examiner and for the thoughtful evaluation. Welcome to the academic club, Amélie!

Excited to have contributed to this new @cp-molcell.bsky.social paper on how PARP1 auto-modification promotes faithful Okazaki fragment processing and limits replication fork speed. A big congrats to Jonas for driving this work forward, great to see the results out! 👉 10.1016/j.molcel.2025.09.006

What makes #cshldnarep special isn’t just the cutting-edge, top-notch science; it’s the chance to meet the authors of the papers we build on every day, exchange ideas, and feel part of this community. Heading home exhausted, grateful, full of ideas and renewed motivation to push my project forward!

It is not always safe to repair DNA Damage. Sometimes, cells "just bypass it". During DNA replication, repair of lesions on DNA can be dangerous. Cells instead "tolerate" DNA damage and focus on finishing replication. Read our review and find out why and how: doi.org/10.1016/j.ti...

🎉 Congratulations to SUND's new professors! The Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, @ucph.bsky.social celebrated 23 newly appointed professors. Through their dedicated work, they contribute every day to the development of the university, the healthcare system, and society at large.

🌿 Off to Hillerød for the 2025 MoMeD Summer School! Our PI Julien Duxin -as head of the MoMeD PhD Programme at @ucph.bsky.social- joins our PhD students and many others for 2 packed days of science, networking, and inspiration. Looking forward to connecting and exchanging ideas across fields!

Our lab’s a little more crowded (and a lot more curious) this week! 🧠🐸 We’re thrilled to welcome @RepliFate students for a hands-on course in Xenopus egg extracts. They're diving into the Xenopus world and learning how this powerful system helps us explore DNA replication and genome stability.

Chromosome Biology Club is back today! Join us for two exciting talks: 🧬 Christian Nielsen (CCS/ICMM) on the distinct roles of condensins I & II in mitotic chromosome mechanics 🧬 Judit Pilmark (BRIC) on mutational signatures linked to NER deficiency Starting at 4.45 pm Followed by pizzas and beer
