We are the number one app in the United States. I repeat. We are the number one app in the United States.

App store talking. we are number one. threads is number two. nothing else needs to be said.

This might be an unpopular opinion, but… It seems somewhat problematic to me that bluesky is becoming associated with a specific political view, whether intentional or not. The biggest social networks thrive by facilitating many communities rather than polarizing to only some

A reminder that bluesky is built on top of an open protocol, called at protocol. This means that other developers are able to theoretically permissionlessly build apps to compete with bluesky, utilizing the same data and usernames without having to worry about an API being shut down

Nascent social networks have evolving & potentially fragile cultures. Replying to trolls gives them distribution - imo the best response is no response

Sorry for earnestposting, but, with all the people reminiscing about how they *actually got hired* from Twitter, just testing this out for Bluesky— Hi, I’m looking for work ATM. I have a background in plant bio/ecology/modeling/ML/remote sensing, interested in climate tech or ag tech.
