We're at the point where the Telegraph are literally making up quotes. I said when veg is sold for pennies in supermarkets, it's a sign someone's not being paid properly. Farmers being paid a pittance for their produce. Workers on less than a living wage in supermarkets.

Got annoyed with my version of Windows no longer being supported, but my otherwise beefy computer not compatible with the newest version. So I installed Fedora Workstation instead. Honestly don't know why I didn't switch over years ago. Just as easy to use, superior user experience. Try it out.

Completed our regular bird survey on the hill behind Rancho del Watson, a strip of White Box woodland surrounded by paddocks. Plenty of parrots, but not many small insectivores. Saw six additional species in adjacent reveg (mostly wattles) on the way home—a testament to the key role of understory…

Much of the huge diversity of arthropods looks just like this, tons of little stinkers that are nearly identical at passing glance. All are unique species with their own natural history and irreplaceable ecology, it just takes a very observant mind to appreciate it. #entomology #science #insects

Newly published in Austral Entomology: Cunha et al. describe Similihypoxys gen. nov. within Edessinae, proposing a new genus close to Hypoxys and including six species, one of them transferred from another genus.
