The value here is a data point (the recipe that leads to this outcome varies by location at least where I have lived, and has lots of ingredients and flavors.) I think it is worth studying not so much on trying to find a universal reason that explains other places… +

Has anyone read anything good on why the east coast is such fertile ground for the extreme right? (Lincolnshire, East Anglia, the Essex and Kent coasts) Demographics aren't wildly different to other areas where it's much less pronounced.

Just a reminder that the claim that American DSA candidates are all radical leftists is hilarious to Europeans who have actual radical leftists in their politics. Until a DSA candidate runs on “Banning private property”or a 75% tax rate, they are still comparatively center left

The Internet tells me gunpowder was discovered by Daoist alchemists in China (9th century) while seeking to make “the elixir of life.” It was then used peacefully for celebrations (ie fireworks.) The camera was not invented trying to do surveillance. And it can still be used for many nice things.
