I write things and sometimes I build things. Other times I do fuck-all. I try to align my opinions with the facts, rather than the other way around. Photo by lacyphoto.bsky.social who was getting booked with me.
Well, Senator, I look forward to you working to create a Nuremberg style tribunal to get to the bottom of these questions, including Nuremberg style consequences for those involved.

I don't use GenAI because I want to be capable of doing my work. I want my work to be my work. I want my successes to be *my* successes. And I want to do the work that I can only do if I don't have GenAI getting in my way. Each author and intellectual should have this conversation with themselves.
I finished the first draft of my third book, The Cosmos is a Black Aesthetic, in January. And I had to let it simmer and get some feedback. And I am ready to push through a major revision and I'm looking at some of the work that needs to be done and it would be **IMPOSSIBLE** with GenAI involvement.
America if the news covered it like those countries Over There

I'll never understand how intelligence agencies haven't nabbed him. A literal Russian asset, hell-bent on destroying the UK but they'll let it slide because they also don't like brown doctors. Absolute cowards.
"I will not touch anything with ai-generated code" is going to mean, in pretty short order, "I will not touch software" this is just functionally what software development is now and it's only going to accelerate from here
I think it’s important for anyone who (completely understandably) checked out on AI the second the crypto/nft/metaverse/snake oil chuds started pushing it to realize that, in at least the domain of software development, we are very much living in a scenario where the snake oil actually works
🚨BREAKING: The Trump administration continued airing taxpayer-funded ads promoting President Donald Trump after a federal judge ordered the campaign halted, then told the court Monday that an internal email delay was to blame. www.democracydocket.com/news-alerts/...
Trump administration kept taxpayer-funded ads running after judge ordered them stopped, blames email delay
The government’s ads aired in nearly 400 television spots on programs that began at 7 p.m. Eastern — after the judge's order was already in force.

I said this in a thread last night and in a thousand threads before it, but you really are doing the work of those who would destroy democracy and the rule of law when you are a doomer. You can be aware of — and vigorously oppose — the lawlessness of this administration without insisting on doom.
Huh. Apparently Katie Miller deleted this tweet that I had the foresight to screencap. Turns out I can TOO make things go viral on Xitter, even.
I don't disagree with the sentiment but wonder if the ICE murders of Good and Pretti could be considered the first federally produced snuff films. The reality TV version from the reality TV President.
“One might even ask what took them this long to stage the first federally produced snuff film of the modern era, since today’s conservative movement is absolutely saturated in violence — encouraging it, glorifying it, and from time to time, committing it.“ By Paul Waldman
An important bit of immigration law which is relevant here; there is already a waiver process — Section 212(k) of the INA — by which immigrants who obtain status through fraud that they didn't know about can avoid consequences like losing a green card. So this is *even weaker* than it already seems.

I’m ok. Make no mistake: this is an attempt to target political enemies and weaponize federal law enforcement. For ten years, Trump has targeted me with baseless lies and smear campaigns. This is just the latest escalation in his campaign of political intimidation. I will not be silenced.

The tone of the hearing is far less combative now as Abbe Lowell is questioning Mr. Greiss, who said that he has not received any official notification about Trump's golf course plan, and has only read about it on social media. He is painting a picture of a civil servant just executing a prior plan.
My favorite thing about my job is that there are only like, 3 health insurance companies in the country, but on calls we have to check a huge branding sheet because they are all called different things regionally in an attempt to obscure that it’s all just a giant monopoly.
plaintiffs assert that NPS removed 529 trees on Saturday, including healthy, mature maples and oaks. the government was supposed to refrain from doing anything irreversible without providing enough notice for the court to act, but Judge Reyes hadn't entered a formal order until this morning
gm! at 10 I'll be live-tweeting the emergency TRO hearing in Judge Reyes's "courtroom" (this is on Zoom) in D.C. Preservation League v. Department of Interior, otherwise known as the golf course case
Trump is openly trying to incite violence against this ethnic group (most of whom are American citizens, not that it matters). He is using the tools of the government to persecute them.
I don’t get this website. Earlier in the week I saw another anti data center article from them about a grove of American chestnut trees that read like pure ai slop.
