Just so freakin' angry that so few people get to choose for ourselves what our bodies are like, especially when what gets in the way isn't what's physically possible, but rather how other people (individually or as a society or anything in between) just won't allow it.
FIFA have confirmed Balogun’s suspension has been lifted and he *will* be allowed to stand in the Clacton by election
I remember, now that I'm looking at BlueSky more often, that I was following a rule of "don't post a negative thing without posting a positive thing". I think that's a good rule, whatever happens. Anyway, I got a new harmonica in the post today. Whether that is negative or positive is up to you.
So, a joke MP with 5 houses bought for cash, links to criminality and a £5Mill ‘gift’ in his bank… is so enraged at being held to account… that he resigns from the MP role he never did anyway…and demands a “people v the establishment” by-election to vote him back in. What an insufferable wanker.
Incidentally, I didn't realise until a couple of weeks ago how many things I'd rather be doing that working on a draft of a REF impact case. If that means nothing to you, lucky you. I'm on the point of standing for election in Clacton.
I've just caught the end of a game of football and it seemed such a waste of time. This world cup would be so much quicker if we just asked AI to tell us who wins. What's the point? *runs and hides* (I got Scotland in the office sweepstake. I was so confident...)
I think I'll quit my job then immediately apply for it again. That's definitely not a complete waste of time and money and I'm sure nobody will mind. (What? No, just thinking out loud. Not talking about anything else here.) (Seriously, why is this even allowed? Please don't answer that.)
Over on another social network I've been encouraging techie types to indulge in bad art so I thought I'd do it here too. One of my favourite hobbies these days is making bad art. It's how I remember I'm human. Remember you're human, whatever else life makes you do.

Stop transphobia in the NHS | Good Law Project
The health service is refusing trans people the care we all need, just because they’re trans – it’s time to defend an NHS for everyone

remember when a bunch of software companies made a big deal about "returning to the office," citing worsening quality of work? and then none of their products got any better? and then some of them started to vibe code everything? and their products got even worse??
It’s beyond me that a country so smugly obsessed with its own rightness, so pleased with its system that many of its serious thinkers have believed, unironically, that its existence is a gift from God to the world, can have the top of its judicial & executive branches openly hate its constitution.
Spotted while wandering Brussels. I didn't realise this was here.
My 14-yo-son has recreated the climax of Back to the Future in gingerbread and I thought you should know.
I meant to be asleep but, well, it's nearly Christmas, the coursework is graded, and this is just where we are now. #latenightalbumclub
I'm looking for a Kindle book I bought in 2016. It's no longer in my account. I can buy it again when I find the order, but can I read it? Ha! Forget it. I know better now and I don't do that any more. Still... don't buy electronic content. You're only renting it. You knew that already, of course.
If you're going to post a screenshot of a Donald Trump tweet (or, anyone really, but especially him) please can you remember the alt text so that my mute filters can save me from looking at it when I haven't prepared myself? (Also, please remember the alt text anyway. Be creative with it too :))
I guess it's fitting that it's a reimagined, worse version of someone else's artwork
If you hear "Last Christmas", look around you. Score 1 point for anyone who is visibly annoyed, 2 points for anyone audibly annoyed. Give yourself bonus points at liberty for any creative swearing.
This popped into my head earlier today and enough people seemed to like it that I'm going to Inflict it on you too. It's just a little Christmas ditty. youtube.com/shorts/VAXeT...

Zero tolerance for doomerism. Stop lazily accepting that everything is screwed forever. Stop normalising low expectations. That’s part of the problem & it’s what the bastards want. It’s also a product of privilege. People in more desperate situations don’t have the option to just sit back & shrug.
I am going to have to deliberately knock myself out of Whamageddon because: a) Shopping is stressful enough as it is. b) It's a cracking song. Why hide from it? Mariahgeddon on the other hand...
All those years at prompt school learning how to make prompts, and knowing that the true joy in the art is the process and the craft involved in coming up with the prompt, and now this! (It's as if this person is *almost* getting it... the light will come on soon. Surely. Please.)
stupid young people, stop buying a new phone every year if you don't want to be broke. wait no, not like that.
