Cursed fanfic idea: Batman, Ankh-Morkpork style. Young Sam Vimes becomes an orphan raised by Willikins, fighting the crimes the Watch can't touch. His main foe is obviously a graduate of the Fool's Guild, expelled after blatant misuse of the traditional props. He's know on the streets as the Hippo.
