To anyone watching the US Men’s National Team in the FIFA World Cup: remember that forward Folarin Balogun is a birthright US citizen (born in 🇺🇸, raised in 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 to 🇳🇬 parents). Several other players on that team are immigrants. Please advocate for immigrant rights because immigrants make America great!

To anyone in Minneapolis reading this: Please stay safe. I have seen all the scary videos coming out of that city. I feel your pain. Hang in there, my fellow foreign students in America (and anyone else feeling unsafe right now). This too shall pass. Know your rights.

I grieve for the students at Brown University who witnessed the horrific shooting. People in America need POLICY & CHANGE, not “thoughts and prayers”. Colleges & universities should be places of learning, research & community, not trauma & loss. 💔

I am disappointed in the statements by current #NWSL player Elizabeth Eddy about gender testing. Trans rights are human rights! Her comments put several players, especially Black ones, at risk due to the NWSL’s inability to protect people such as Barbra Banda. The league must condemn those comments.

Nigeria have made the second round of African World Cup qualifying after beating Benin 4-0 today. While this is welcome progress, there is still a long way to go for Nigeria. They will need to win an African semifinal, an African final and one inter-confederation game to qualify for World Cup 2026.
