Sometimes it strikes me that people who had kids in 2000 when I was in the middle of college (and kids were a huge NOPE at that stage).... Those kids are now just past college age. WTF time? You can't just be doing that.
A brief but intense storm came through late afternoon yesterday and knocked down a bunch of trees. It took the power and internet out for 450 people. It's been down 14 hrs and may not be up until midnight. Crew isn't here yet as they are probably scrambling to get to the other 500 and 300 nearby.
Randomly went to the Star Trek sing-a-long and the production value was really fun. The actresses for Uhura and Chapel stood in the back and cheered on the performers.
Its so hot, I was fanning myself with my hands and a random kind lady handed me a spare fan she had and disappeared into the crowd. People are so nice. #dragoncon

I have chosen a most excellent bag of potatoes for $5 10 whole pounds! It's weird and hobbit-ish to celebrate such a thing but it's such a good bag of potatoes I must tell people.
So yesterday we had a run off. The choices were a young highly educated teacher with progressive ideas vs. the daughter of the guy who stayed in office so long he died. (she said she planned to continue his work) I chose the teacher. The teacher won.
I have a beautiful floaty embroidered blouse I splurged on holiday in Saint Martin years and years ago. Over the years it has lost its cute little tassels, and I am about to replace them. I just made some new ones out of embroidery floss.

I suddenly feel the need to make something with lots of cool zippers on it. I can haaaate making it but then love how it looks. Zippers can be the devil for no reason.
The local sushi bar was closing and I watched the wait staff scramble over to the conveyor belt to snag their faves. I was like "Oh can I have one?" And the wait staff ran over and gave me two plates. Free sushi! Was good.
The cat caught a snake. I was about to go to bed when I saw it in the living room. I made a noise you know I made and then caught it in a tupperware container. Took it back outside.
Another cat brushed all up against my socks earlier tonight. I thought I got away with it but now my cat has caught the scent and is VERY interested in "why the fuck does my sock smell like that?" I am preparing myself for a subtle claw.

I have some old jean shorts that always looked frumpy on me. I played around with the length by cuffing them and it looks better. So I am sewing the cuff in place. I'd turn it up one more time but then the butt looks indecent 😅
