Heads up, the Midtown Greenway will be closed from Aug 3-7 for 10th Ave for bridge work and for CenterPoint Energy utility work (around 13th and 14th Aves). These were scheduled together to minimize closures. The detour is on 28th St from Park Ave S to 18th Ave S. #MidtownGreenway

OK, I think this Green Line extension is actually going to happen. Fences are gone at the West Lake Street Station.

One other thing i learned from this map is that there is a sliver of Chanhassen that is actually in Hennepin County. And apparently, that's not the only municipality that split in two counties in the Metro area.

I somehow missed that you can get a GoPro on Facebook Marketplace for dramatically cheaper than Ebay. The 256Gb sd card here is probably worth about $70 alone. I've really enjoyed having one on my bike - gps + video has been a lot of fun.

This is the worst part of the commute - a 300 meter stretch along 62. The entire 17 mile ride gets plowed within 24 hrs after snowfall except this section. It usually takes a full week for the responsible city to get to this sidewalk, and it becomes impassible.

Im just going to force everyone to look at my commute. This is the Bluffs Trail in Minnetonka, along Shady Oak Lake. This spot is where I see a Baltimore Oriole (bird not MLB player) every couple of weeks.

If others dont contribute, I guess this is just a way to show off what a bike commute from South Minneapolis to Chanhassen looks like. I continue to develop this, so let me know if you have any thoughts.

I am just basking in this Lyndale news. In a few years, my kids are going to be able to ride their bikes from 50th and Bryant to Lyndale to Loring Park and down Hennepin to get to the dowtown library. 99% of 6 miles on a curb level, protected bikeway.

I think it's important to remember how close to a disaster this whole reconstruction ended up getting. Everyone should be sending huge "thank you"s to @katiecashman.bsky.social and @aishaforward10.com for pulling this from the brink.

I shouldn't be this nervous listening to a city council stream about a street reconstruction.

I've been playing around with a project to share fresh, mapped, street-view bike infrastructure images. The idea is that if you could see what your route looked like yesterday/last week/last month when someone else rode it, it might be easier to get out the door. lane.kleinbaum.us

Great. Thanks, @minneapolismn.gov, but this is not the first time this truck has been parked on the sidewalk and bike lane and reported to 311. How many times do they get advised before they actually get ticketed?

No better way to travel. We're listening to George's Marvelous Medicine and watching Long Island go by.
