pearson's in st. paul is closing and laying off all its workers
Heads up, the Midtown Greenway will be closed from Aug 3-7 for 10th Ave for bridge work and for CenterPoint Energy utility work (around 13th and 14th Aves). These were scheduled together to minimize closures. The detour is on 28th St from Park Ave S to 18th Ave S. #MidtownGreenway
We need more 24 hour stores. I have a smoke alarm beeping due to low battery and realized I'm out of 9V batteries 😩
I saw a train on the greenway tonight! I'm declaring that if you bike past a train on the greenway, you'll have good luck for the week.
Remember that this smoke is climate change visualized. If we want a smoke free future we have to combat it in every arena: transportation, infrastructure, housing, waste management, energy use, etc. It also means, combating doomerism, we can take action for a better future! No battle is too small!
Lyndale Avenue Reconstruction design passes City Council (8-4) with amendments from @sorenwithward8.bsky.social and @aurinmpls.bsky.social 🎉
Hell yeah! Almost seven years after Theodore Ferrara was killed by a driver on Lyndale, and we started advocating for serious change, we got there. It's not a perfect design (there are a lot of things I'd do differently), but it's light-years better than the 2019 status quo.
Lyndale plan approved by the city council 8-4! This isn't veto proof, but I'm not too worried. Mayor Frey probably isn't the level of maniac as these council members who voted no: Warren, Shaffer, Rainville, Vetaw.
The Lyndale Ave reconstruction was approved 8-4 at the Minneapolis City Council meeting this morning! We've been working on this #LivableLyndale effort for over three years and believe this new street design will be a great improvement to the area. I hope that Mayor Frey will approve too.
Watch us truly feel the conditions of Lyndale Ave as we ride over broken asphalt. The street needs to be reconstructed, and I hope city council will approve the layout tomorrow.
Today on the Wedge LIVE podcast: What is the phone number for the Minneapolis pedicab regulatory authority? My pedicab driver was too sassy and sarcastic. It made me uncomfortable.
Tonight was such a good evening for biking, peak summer night riding.
The new masculinity focuses on: -Strength as service -Emotional capacity -Co-creative partnership -Purpose over ego -A Lyndale Ave for the year 2100 Please feel our joy.
The stretch of the Mississippi River that runs through the Twin Cities is part of the only gorge on the entire river. Some environmental groups say removing locks and dams in the region would help restore the river's ecological health and create new recreational opportunities. But questions remain.
What would removing Twin Cities locks and dams mean for the Mississippi River?
Some environmental groups think removing the locks and dams would help restore the ecological health of the river and create new recreational opportunities, but many questions remain. Several studies ...

We usually promote via a few social posts but the efforts of these climbers to spread the word on the next DJ ride is much appreciated.
Yes. A bike emergency has been declared. We ride tomorrow, June 28. Departing Mueller Park at 7:30 pm.
I heard rumors of a ride tomorrow? Or was that just rumors?
Perpetual callout to how nice the Sabo Bridge is. Minnesota's first cable stay bridge and a great place to see a sunset (or sunrise)!
A Metro Transit bus stops at the Minneapolis West Lake Street Station in June 2026. Soon we’ll see buses and trains moving over and under each other just as the trains enter/exit the tunnel.
I got to the Pillsbury Ave bridge demolition a little earlier this evening. The piers look cool with the rebar fanning out of the tops. I think the piers will remain in place and get capped over (like the 10th Ave bridge replacement)?
Bridge down! The Pillsbury Ave S bridge over the Midtown Greenway started demolition today.
This is the second heavy rain and hailstorm I've had to take shelter under a tree for in the last few years. I found a better tree this time!#mnwx
“You are like the billionaires you probably hate” 🤣 so many one liners here at the Vibrant Lyndale meeting.
I just saw @willwoodworth.com give the best facepalm here at the Vibrant Lyndale meeting. That really describes the vibe here.
I haven’t heard anyone heckle “bring back the streetcar” yet tonight at the Vibrant Lyndale meeting.
I just locked eyes with @bylert.bsky.social who gave me the best eye roll ever at the Vibrant Lyndale meeting. 🤣
