I have to give a warm shout-out to @dryadtea.bsky.social for Star Maps. I ordered some recently on a whim, and it's been game-changing since I came down with pneumonia. The clove and ginger make it perfect for fighting the otherwise constant cough. I can sleep now! 11/10 will always keep on hand

This!!! Besides, it's a fruitless ask: "Apolitical" archaeology doesn't exist. The very fact you want archaeologists to abandon politics is -in itself- a political statement. They want us to be complicit in injustice for the sake of the 'Business' of archaeology.

In asking archaeologists to unify over a more apolitical archaeology, you are explicitly asking marginalised archaeologists to reject parts of themselves for the sake of civility. You’re asking people who recognise injustice to remain silent. Why would I want to be in a group like that?

I don't have the spoons to read this article at the moment, but I will say that while I was diagnosed with ADHD in elementary school, I was medically gaslit into thinking it didn't impact my life beyond "a little daydreaming" (words from a school administrator that unfortunately stuck).

For decades, ADHD was viewed as a childhood condition that mostly affected boys. Researchers now know ADHD manifests differently in girls, but many still go undiagnosed until adulthood.

Our GMs and players at this Gen Con are on another level... one table playing Old Gods of Appalachia (at 11pm, mind you) wrote AND SANG an entire song to make a Level 7 Ritual succeed!

One of the hardest parts of being a pet parent is getting that news. My big baby Darla has DM. She's still moving around on her own but isn't steady enough to get up the stairs anymore, which is what alerted me to something being wrong. We don't know how much time she has left and I'm heartbroken.

WE ARE IN OVERTIME! 🎉 Jewel in the Sky is still going—back now to keep it alive! Vocurro, the floating island in the sky containing a station of visitors from the stars, as well as magical mines filled with inveigh, is coming to life! What will you find in its depths?!? mymcg.info/jewel

Art from @montecookgames.com 's upcoming Jewel in the Sky features massive open spaces. Has anyone used expansive spaces like this in their games? Have you played in a game with these kinds of spaces? I've found epic proportions can enhance the feel of an adventure. Gives Mines of Moria vibes!

A cavernous hall with bridges over open spaces, with adventurers crossing a bridge and approaching a portal flanked by larger than life statues. Text reads, "Jewel in the Sky."A broken, rocky bridge over an open expanse leading to a doorway with a group of adventurers crossing. Text reads, "Jewel in the Sky."

Had a lovely birthday weekend: ate wonderful cake made by my husband, saw good friends, and indulged in a little shopping. I needed the recharge, I was running on fumes. I grabbed a few new books, both fiction and non, and I really hope I can do some reading now that I have a few more spoons.

I can't believe I'm saying this and it's not a meme, but polls close at 7 in Illinois, so if you're in line to vote, STAY IN LINE. You can register TODAY with a piece of business mail and vote TODAY. Every vote counts. It's a sunnier, nicer day out than we all thought it would be! Get out there!

Just a reminder: don’t pinch your coworkers. Even if they’re not wearing green. There is no St. Patrick’s Day affirmative defense to harassment or assault. This has been a PSA from your friendly neighborhood employment lawyer.

A lot of the recent hate for anime dubs is suspicious especially considering that the quality of dubs have gotten much better. I'm suspecting a lot of the hate now has to do with the inclusion of more diverse voice actors. Representation is so important in spaces like these.

Generally speaking all pre-orders are equal. Publishers note where the preorders are coming from, but mostly for their own information. That said, remember you can also pre-order books at your local bookstores! It's not just an online thing. Pre-ordering locally helps the bookstore and the author!

Almost hate to ask, but are all preorders equal? Like, do publishers take equal notice of preorders from Bookshop vs Amazon vs local stores?
