May's record was broken by over 2ºC, and June's record is likely to go by perhaps 3ºC, extraordinary.

We’ve written to Dutch & Colombian ministers thanking them for convening the Santa Marta Conference on transitioning away from fossil fuels. We support the UNFCCC process, but warn fossil fuel interests still distort it. Santa Marta must ensure balance and safe space for communities.

This whole thread is phenomenal, but this slide in particular stood out as the silver lining. The countries that will make it through this crisis relatively unscathed will be those who invested in renewables.

If you haven’t already watched the new documentary from Louis Theroux on the manosphere, make sure you do well out of reach of anything you might throw at the television. Equal parts terrifying and pathetic. The hatred of women wrapped into a pyramid scheme, reducing young men to their base needs.
Fossil fuels are exacerbating the cost of living crisis. The best time to have heavily invested in efficiency and renewables was two decades ago. The next best time is now.

Absolutely delighted to hear about the High Court ruling removing Palestine Action as a terrorist group. It should never have gotten this far. Arresting peaceful protesters with placards should shame any modern democracy.
I can absolutely see a scenario where, because Trump mixed up Greenland and Iceland in his Davos speech, he now also goes after Iceland just to prove he didn’t fluff his lines.
As an optimist who always thinks things will turn out ok in the end, I feel like I have spent the majority of the first weeks of January doing shocked Pikachu face.
