All the negative effects to date have been found in high-income countries. There is an interesting question here about whether there might be a kind of Goldilocks effect where, when awareness is low/stigma is high (like in some LMIC schools), then universal interventions are helpful...

I'm going to say it, there is a worrying lack of curiosity in my profession of clinical psychology about some popular & yet highly questionable ideas about trauma. Van der Kolk's book, polyvagal theory, deterministic ideas that kids exposed to trauma are "brain damaged"... where do we go from here?
