ELC, along with Abrams Fensterman, is proud to announce that the Town of Newburgh has agreed to switch its electoral system for Town Council to a Proportional Ranked Choice Voting system as part of an agreement to settle litigation.
ELC member Maria Nolan testified before the Maryland State Senate Government Labor and Election Committee in support of HB219, which aims to prohibit voter suppression and intimidation that inhibits democratic opportunities to freely elect candidates.
In January, ELC advanced student Louie Goldsmith represented plaintiffs before the Norfolk County Superior Court. Louie provided an opening statement and conducted direct and cross examination for key witnesses.
