Lanterns is a great example of a very well written show that is completely at odds with the fandom of the IP it's based on. It's a show about grief, trauma, fear, and humility. Trying to tie in the Green Lantern Deep Lore would have been detrimental to the story being told here.

Maybe I’m going on my high-horse a bit, but I’ve always had a quiet disdain for irony-pilled humour. While a detached mindset can be funny in moderation, I think the world needs more sincerity and genuine care, rather than less of it. Call me a fuckin’ Boy Scout, but eh. I literally was one.

The amount of working artists I've spoken to who are losing or have lost the ability to make a viable career out of it due largely to people's use of genAI instead of hiring artists is genuinely so upsetting. We won't know what we've lost until it's gone.
