White House correspondent PBS News Hour

With scaffolding and a tarp now up on the North Portico, the White House appears to be undergoing some sort of additional construction or restoration work. PBS News' @elizlanders.bsky.social asked the Trump administration for more about what's happening. Here's what she found out.

President Trump was just asked if he will sign the bipartisan housing bill that passed last week: "I don't know. I think it's so unimportant by compared to the SAVE America Act...To me, compared to the Save America Act, just about everything is a big yawn."

I asked President Trump yesterday why American taxpayers should foot the bill for the $1.7 billion fund created by the Dept of Justice that could go to January 6th rioters 👇🏼

I just asked @potus if he would send the National Guard or ICE to voting locations in November. He did not rule it out. The president: “Well you know what. I’d do anything necessary to make sure we have honest elections. We have to have honest elections."

I asked the president how bombing Iranian energy infrastructure would help the people of Iran. He asked what news outlet I was with, then said PBS is “a radical left group of lunatics” but said it was a “very fair question” and answered it.

My question to the president in the Cabinet meeting a few moments ago, asking him about why he used a mail-in ballot when he has recently and repeatedly criticized that method of voting.
