🎂 Little Phoebe turned 6 YEARS OLD today! She was a tiny baby puppy and now she’s my beautiful golden girl. 🎂

In case anybody’s curious about what the royal family’s been up to lately, Queen Camilla met with J.K. Rowling today and the official royal family social media accounts posted a picture of them together: x.com/royalfamily/...
This is a new one for the category of “insane things that happen to me because I report on the royal family”: Somebody went to Clevr’s website, put my name and information into the “contact us” page, and wrote a screed against Meghan Markle. This is not normal behavior.
So, my Twitter/X account was hacked earlier today and I've lost access to it (the bastards reset my 2FA). I know this is a longshot, but does anyone on here know an actual human who might be able to help me? (I get most of my freelance commissions via Twitter/X and being locked out of it is bad.)
Truly hilarious to me that I’m out of the USA when there’s an official royal visit and one of my best friends who’s working in Kyiv is out of the country when Prince Harry is there. Your girl (who covers the royal family) can’t catch a break.
Another Ireland update: Bought Big Bro @dcbigjohn.bsky.social a Galway Gaelic football jersey.
I’m currently in the boarding process of an international flight and I truly cannot believe the AUDACITY of so many passengers on this plane. People (including 1 family w/ kids) are just sitting wherever they want and then guilt-tripping the people who actually have those seats.
Phoebe has figured out that I’m about to leave on a trip and she’s now following me around and being a needy velcro dog.
Truly can’t believe that a royal visit to the USA is happening at the same time as my first international trip in 7 years.
I have a weird little story about Paolo Zampolli, the guy who introduced Trump to Melania: He owned a building 1 block away from the old BuzzFeed NYC office and would rent some of its apartments on AirBnB. I stayed there a lot (proof attached, he gave me great reviews). This was part of the decor:
Big Phoebe and Little Phoebe would like to wish everyone a very good night!

I’m heading into Midnight Mass and turning my phone off, but I want to say a very Happy Easter to everyone. (Especially everyone who’s becoming Catholic tonight — to you, welcome to our family!!!)
Nicest moment of the day: Catching Chef José Andrés, restaurateur and founder of World Central Kitchen, giving fist bumps to a group of children sitting on the curb next door to the Supreme Court as he left the day’s rally in support of birthright citizenship. www.lawdork.com/p/supreme-co...
I have some questions about the “WWII trophy” items listed in this estate sale.
This is an unbelievably gorgeous post for so many reasons but this part has fully broken me
I wrote about Kat.
Everyone is wondering what the correct level of contrition is and this seems about right
“Apparently I’m an idiot.” Woman at Pennsylvania gas station who voted for Trump rips into him, calls him “a worthless pile of sh*t”.
This piece from Megan is so powerful. Detailing her story like this is a public service, one she recognizes may negatively impact her life and yet chose to do anyways.

Dark money campaign in IL-09 changed their shady website last night not to dispute reporting but to smear it with the fact that I worked w/ Abughazaleh's boyfriend at NBC 3 years ago. To be clear: Ben is cool. We used to work together. And that had no influence on this 100% true story. Send me tips!

One of the last expenses BuzzFeed News approved was this photo shoot with @katmabu.bsky.social for my profile of her. It was my last piece published there after 10 years and I remain very proud of it. www.buzzfeednews.com/article/elli...

well is frakkin enraging @officialgrammarly.bsky.social this is wrong, you absolute clowns who are also thieves, STOP DOING THIS GRAMMARLY every time I think these LLM thieves have enraged me the absolute most, they go further 🌋🤮
For shits & giggles I plugged in some of my recent stories to Grammarly’s “expert review” thing, and its bots pretended to be @franklinavenue.bsky.social, @moryan.bsky.social, @emilynussbaum.bsky.social & @brianstelter.bsky.social among others. This is some bullshit.
I think they might have better luck spending two thousand dollars holding a press conference where they detail who made the key decisions to collaborate with the Trump administration, how and when they were fired, and explaining what would stop that from happening again.
Target plans to spend billions of dollars this year to end a persistent sales slump and to regain its image as a fun place to shop for stylish clothing, housewares, beauty products and packaged food at affordable prices.
I wrote about the House hearing today, how Congress is trying to strip anonymity from the Internet, and the devastating effects that has for journalists, whistleblowers, LGBTQ ppl, immigrants, civil rights activists, abortion providers and anyone challenging power for @theintercept.com
Congress Is Considering Abolishing Your Right to Be Anonymous Online
The bipartisan push to remove anonymity from the internet is ushering in an era of unprecedented mass surveillance and censorship.
